According to the US Department of Labor (DoL) report on Thursday, the number of US citizens applying for unemployment insurance benefits increased by 212K in the week ending April 13. This figure slightly undershot the initial consensus of 215K and matched the previous week’s gain, which was revised from 211K to 212K.
Further details from the report indicate that the advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate stood at 1.2%, while the 4-week moving average remained unchanged from the previous week’s revised average, standing at 214.50.
Additionally, Continuing Claims rose by 2K to reach 1.812M in the week ended April 6.
